Civil Engineer
needed to perform hydrologic & hydraulic analysis &
modeling, studies & design of highway stream crossings,
technical review of Flood Insurance Studies, Letter of Map Revisions
in support of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), FEMA
Map Multi-Hazard Flood Modernization (MHFMM). Experience with
natural channel design, design of storm water Best Management
Practices (BMPs), geomorphic assessments, wetland assessments,
sediment and erosion control practices, and construction document
packages preferred. Usage of GIS application & software,
such as Arc GIS desktop, GIS Hydro, ABSCOUR, US Army Corps of
Engineers Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC) computer models,
(HEC-2 and HEC-RAS) and GIS integration using HEC-GeoRAS, a
US Army Corps of Engineers model. Familiarity with wetland and
stream-related regulatory programs and permitting requirements,
GPS equipment, ArcView GIS, AutoCAD/Microstation, hydrologic
and/or hydraulic modeling a plus. Must be fluent in MS Office,
including Excel, and must demonstrate good written and verbal
skills. Must be able to organize data collection to obtain project-required
information, compile and analyze data and develop reports. Must
understand and work within scope and budget constraints on tasks.
Moderate travel to project sites will be required. Some overnight
travel may be required. Must be able and willing to work in
field conditions. Master’s in Civil Engineering, Environmental
Science, Earth Science, Environmental Engineering, or equivilant
field. 6 months relevant experience.

GIS Specialist Job
Posting Date: 02/28/07
BS in Geography,
or related field, required to assist SAAD Consultants with providing
external data requests for flood insurance data to engineering
firms and governmental agencies around the country. Perform
data research and evaluation of effective hydraulic (HEC-2,
HEC-RAS) & hydrological (HEC-1) engineering modeling, letter
of map change (LOMR, CLOMR, and LOMA), levee certifications
and topographic work-maps. Work with GIS data to support the
preparation of various NFIP products including flood maps, flood
study reports and profiles. Utilize ArcView, ArcGIS, Map Viewer,
ArcExplorer, and GPS Pathfinder Office to determine floodplain
characteristics and cross section contours in support of hydrologic
and hydraulic analyses and modeling of streams and other watercourses.
Perform inventory of flood insurance study data (original hardcopy
and digital file management)for metadata composition and management,
be responsible for shipment of data by mail, scanning of work-maps,
and library storage of
requested engineering information. Utilize cartographical, maps
interpretation, GIS, and database management (Access), Alchemy
4.1., and eCopy Desktop.

Senior Civil (Hydrology and Hydraulics) Engineer
SAAD Consultants is looking for entry level and senior engineers-civil
(hydrology and hydraulics) to work on FEMA Multi-Hazard Flood
Map Modernization project
B.S./M.S./Ph.D. Civil/Hydraulic Engineering
0-6+ years experience
Knowledge of the principals of watershed hydrology and riverine
hydraulics
Experience in Hydrology and hydraulics modeling (HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS,
HEC-HMS, SWMM, etc.), including 2-D hydraulic modeling
Providing technical support to junior staff engineers-senior
level
Addressing difficult H&H issues and making resolutions-senior
level
Technical report writing-senior level
Familiarity with GIS tools (ArcView software) and management
of digital database
Familiarity with MicroStation/AutoCAD
EIT/PE Registration is a plus
Training on the job can be provided to get familiar with FEMA
flood map modernization processes and NFIP regulations. For
